Thomas W. Siegrist engineer
Mr. Siegrist is a Consulting Engineer with Stone Mattheis Xenopoulos & Brew, PC. He assists the firm's attorneys in representing clients on matters related to electric power supply, electric power transmission, and electric power operations. Mr. Siegrist also supports the firm's efforts on diverse matters including RTO/ISO markets, rate proceedings, transmission access and interconnection, open access rulemakings, and other customer-specific electric power system matters.
Mr. Siegrist has over 40 years of diverse electric utility experience including electric system operations, electric system reliability and compliance, transmission operations and maintenances, system protection and control, engineering design, system planning, and power contracts.
Prior to joining the firm Mr. Siegrist was a co-owner of EnerVision, Inc., leading its electric transmission, electric system operations and NERC compliance practice areas.
Before the formation of EnerVision in 1998, Mr. Siegrist served in several senior positions with Oglethorpe Power Corporation including Vice President positions in Electric System Operations, Electric System Planning, Transmission Engineering, Telecommunications, and Transmission Operations & Maintenance. In Electric System Operations, he led efforts to establish Oglethorpe Power’s control center operations, enabling Oglethorpe to participate in power markets for the first time.
Mr. Siegrist played a key role in Oglethorpe Power’s 1998 restructuring in helping to create one of the first Independent System Operators, Georgia System Operations Corporation, and one of the first Independent Transmission Companies, Georgia Transmission Corporation.
Prior to joining Oglethorpe Power in 1978, Mr. Siegrist worked with Florida Power & Light Company in Transmission and Generation Test Engineering and Distribution Engineering.
